Brave Nature

Brave Nature

Born from a journey along the Costa Brava, this series emulates the raw passion of nature. Using epoxy resins, acrylics, and gold leaf, I sought to reproduce the rocky, intricate Catalan coasts through a complex multi-step process without using direct references.

This series is born from trial and error, it began with a journey along the Costa Brava which awakened a sense of disbelief upon seeing the rocky and intricate Catalan coasts.

The idea of being able to emulate nature and its evident passion was the precursor of this series, with the need to find a way to show the force of maritime life I embarked on a creative search that was born thanks to the previous experimentation in the 'elements' series.

Having already taken the necessary steps, I decided to try a series of larger, more daring works with the idea of reproducing the views that I so admired on the trip through the coves of Cadaqués, Begur, Palafrugell and Port Lligat.

The series consists of 8 works, in different formats and the creation process is composed of 6 steps (with some more depending on the work) until reaching the final result, without using any reference other than memories and imagination.

The materials used for the creation of the works are: Epoxy resins, different types of acrylics (ink, liquids, thick and binders) and gold/copper leaf.

The works are developed to play with lighting, at each moment of the day they look different and depending on the type of light that illuminates them, their textures and colors change.

You can also appreciate the reflection of whoever is looking at them and it is even pleasant to touch them to enjoy the sensation generated with the resin and its particular texture.
